Blog entry #001
Hi everyone, this is my first time ever writing in this blog. My name is Felix Richel, I’m 18 years old and the main thing you need to know about me is: I love music more than anything in the world.
This blog will mainly be about music, in the broadest sense possible. If you truly love music and want to learn and discuss it more, you came to the right place. Hopefully this blog can get a following of lots of fellow music lovers!
Concerning the name: “The Afterglow”. The afterglow has multiple meanings, but the word is usually associated with the after effects of drugs. This is not to be confused with a mere hangover. The afterglow is, in fact, the contrary. If you feel a sense of confidence, inner peace or you feel “cleansed”, then you’re experiencing the “afterglow”.
Definition of afterglow
-
1: a glow remaining where a light has disappeared
-
2: a pleasant effect or feeling that lingers after something is done, experienced, or achieved afterglow of success>

I thought this word would associate nicely with the things that music makes me feel very often. Music gives me inner peace. So that explains the name. It is also the name of one of my favourite songs: ‘The Afterglow’ – by John Frusciante and Josh Klinghoffer from the 2004 album “A Sphere In The Heart Of Silence”.
I don’t know what to write about yet, so meanwhile, enjoy this picture of my cat.
